Thank You For Supporting Our New Fundraiser To End Depression From Very Tangled Matted Hair

Our ultimate goal is to raise funds to travel and provide our unique healing service to people who can not afford to travel to us or pay for our travel to them-to have their hair detangled.

Also we would like to train and hire more hairdressers, but we must have clients to train on and with.

At present we have clients on our waiting lists- who are unable to afford travel costs/  They are requesting hairdressers to travel to them for professional detangling services.

Fundraiser MISSION:
To get people functioning again in life by keeping their hair.

Cutting is not the solution.  Hair is a large aspect of our identity.

We are contacted by people internationally.

Some have had strokes and have been unable to comb their hair for months.  Family members contact us for their children or elderly loved ones who are in nursing homes and their hair has been neglected.

Others contact us with matted hair due to:
Wheel chair bound,
Healing at home,
Sick in the hospital,
Family constraints,
Depression,
Fear,
Undergoing cancer treatment,
Coming out of a coma,
Hair product/hairdresser mistakes,
Medication side effects
Abuse victims

In exchange for discounted rates for our detangling services, we will video record detangling a clients hair and use the video for training purposes.

Sometimes it could take 2-3 days to detangle a whole head of matted hair that has not been combed for 6 months or a year.  So all clients must pay for any required travel and accommodations.

People become depressed, if they aren’t already suffering from depression.   The longer the hair is matted and tangled, it causes headaches from the pain and weight on the head. It causes frustration, irritation, and low self esteem.

People are ashamed to go outside of their homes, to work or to even to a salon because people will judge them.  And unfortunately most salons and hairdressers reject clients after they criticize or judge the condition of their hair.

WATER Makes Matted Tangled Hair WORSE!

You are actually causing more harm to your very tangled matted hair when you use water, or even hair conditioners.
“We receive an endless number of service calls to detangle hair from  women and hairdressers alike who have made knots or clumps of tangled matted hair worse, tighter, harder and stickier from using an assortment of water based detangle sprays or conditioners.”

Hello,
My name is Erin, most of my hair is matted. I was too depressed to care for it and now I'll probably have to shave it off. Please help me! I'm desperate. I live in Melbourne, Australia. Is there anything that can be done?

My hair is severely matted/tangled and has been for months! I really do not want to cut it off. I live in the uk. What products can you suggest ive spent hours with conditioners and olive oil but it hasnt worked. Do you have a salon in England?

Thank you for your response.  I ordered a bottle of take down remover and will advise when it arrives. Unfortunately I did start cutting my hair, not much, I felt I couldn't do anything else. Its matted into a bun and I can't even get to the ends to comb through. I have been so depressed about my hair which reached my lower back close to all my life. I don't know how I could let it get so bad. I know trying to fix it has made it  a lot worse.

" I thought if I washed my hair it would simply untangle the kinks and knots."  This is the first thought that comes to mind for most people in this predicament.  The most common mistake made when women remove weaves, braids, hair extensions, twists, dreadlock extensions or protective hair styles- is to shampoo immediately.  This creates knots, clumps, or masses of tangled matted hair.

Detangling Hair May Not Be Glamorous..Its Healing

I had a sewin for 6 months.  I removed my sewin.  Since it had been a long time since my hair had been thoroughly clean (without the sew in) I decided to wash my hair.  After shampooing and conditioning my hair my hair was badly matted.   I did not know what to do to fix this problem.  Not only had I ever experience this, I also never really known anyone else to experience this.
I knew that if I went to a beautician they would have quickly cut all my hair.  I went on the internet to different sites.  I discover that I was not the first to have gone through this experience.  The remedies I found included saturating my hair with water and conditioner and slowly untangle the hair.  The first day I saturated my hair with water and conditioner and I tried untangling it.  I did this for the next three days.  I was successful at untangling some of the hair but as the days went on I discovered large bundles of hair all tangled up in knotts.  4 days had gone by with me spending hours with my hair and I had made no progress with the tangled hair.

I know it is just hair but if I could do anything to keep it I felt that it did not hurt to give it a shot. My hair was not just matted. Again it was matted and I believe the more I saturated it with water and conditioner the worse it got.  It was literally knotted  (huge bunch of hair all tangled up in a large hard hump of hair) in different sections of my head.  I mean really knotted (like rat knotts) the knotts were so big that I thought it would be impossible to repair.  My sister was convinced that it would have to be all cut.  I did not give up.  Through my research I saw a clip on YouTube with some girls giving a seminar on how to take down dreadlock and other matted hair with the TakeDown product.  I still did not think this would work for me because again my hair was now in big hard knotts.  I was at a little more ease knowing that someone has gone through this dilemma before me.  I finally sent a message to TakeDown and ask if it was worth the effort to save my hair or realistically was my hair the worse case.   TakeDown representatives responded and highlighted do not cut your hair.

They gave me hope although I rarely believe anything from the internet but it did not hurt to try to save my hair.  It already takes a long time for my hair to grow back so I just did not want to give up.  A tangled hair tech told me to buy the TakeDown product and give her a call and she would walk me through the process.  I did not know how she could walk me through the process with these big huge knots I had in my hair.  I ask if she knew anyone that could physically untangle this matted hair from my head.  I met up with this young lady with very little hope.  I really thought that I was being had or being given false pretense.  With patience (approximately 4.5 hours) she untangled the matted and knotted hair.  I could not believe it, but with the TakeDown product detangler products and more importantly with her expertise she untangled my hair.

I would like to say thank you so much for your help!

Bridget from Chicago

Hey Ladies,

I ordered your product about 6 weeks ago.  Finally got the courage to
ask a friend to help me since so much was in the back of my hair.  We
used your product along with alcohol and it worked!  Yes, it worked!

My scalp was sore but the HUGE tangled matt is gone!  It took about 7
or 8 hours to do but Glory to God.  I thought I was going to have to
cut it but I didn't.

I am sooooo happy!

Thank You For Supporting Our Campaign To Save Hair and Lives From Depression Through Detangling Hair

We appreciate all of your support and contributions.  Your  contributions will enable our team to expand in order to serve more people and save more hair.

 Help!

I left my microbraids in for too long and obviously used the wrong products to wash and condition.
Now my hair is severely matted and tangled.  I am in Tarpon Springs, FL 34689 - about 45 mins northwest of Tampa, FL.

Can you help with referral to a detangling salon and/or where to buy products?

I do not want to have to cut my hair.  It's take so long to grow it to its just past my shoulder length.

 Thank you.

My Autistic daughter

Hello,

My daughter has Autisim and she kicks, hits, screams and cries if you get near her head or hair.

She is 4 and now her hair is one big knotted mess. The last time I tried to cut it and comb it out it took 1 hr

and 30 minutes and she wouldnt come near me for 2 days. What do I do?

Thanks

Dear Tangled Hair Techs -
Do you have anyone who provides service in New Jersey or New York? Or is there a store in our area that sells your product (my zip is 07040). My 4 1/2 year old daughter got birds nest hair when we couldn't wash and condition her hair during Hurricane Sandy and it's at the point where I am fearing I might have to cut it all off. Hope you can help.

Got Tangled, Matted or Dreadlocked Hair?

Severely Matted And Tangled Hair Have Become New Causes of Hair Loss And Baldness In Women.
For most women, severely tangled hair was not an issue of concern until they experienced hair loss and pre-mature balding.
"Women call us in fear, depressed with tears, self blame and loss of self esteem because they have been concealing knots or clumps of matted hair –i.e. ‘birds nest’ in their hair for weeks and they don’t want to go bald”
Internationally for most women hair represents a very essential part of their overall appearance. It is to be praised and emulated. But for an increasing number of women, unexpected hair loss and balding has been triggered early due to incidents with unsympathetically matted and tangled hair.
A Survey conducted by Optima Hair Specialists in Birmingham, UK has revealed that 47 per cent of hair loss sufferers would spend their life savings to regain a full head of hair. Also the survey revealed that 46 per cent of hair loss sufferers questioned started losing their hair between the ages of 18 and 25. 45 per cent of people stated that their social life has been severely damaged due to their hair loss and 72 per cent of sufferers say that they are often perceived as much older than they actually are.
Although matted or tangled hair can be caused by illnesses, hospitalizations, improper removal of braids, hair extensions, un-healthy hair maintenance, improper use of hair products as perms, dyes, gels, relaxers and sprays-women cannot allow their hair to remain in a matted/tangled state for too long.
When a women’s hair becomes seriously tangled or matted, they become so scared because they do not want to cut their hair. Unfortunately they allow their hair to stay this way for weeks at a time-only for their hair to get worse. This will begin to affect the hair follicles-which can lead to Alopecia.”
Alopecia areata is characterized by hair falling out, resulting in smooth, round patches on the scalp. In some cases, alopecia areata can cause the complete loss of scalp and body hair. The condition is most common in people under 30. Baldness occurs by a gradual shrinking of the follicle that produces the hair.
"It's easier to stop losing hair, than to replace hair that's gone," says Dr. Richard Strick, a dermatologist and UCLA clinical professor of dermatology. "Once the follicle has shut down it's difficult, sometimes impossible, to re-stimulate.""Women's hair loss is much more common than most people realize," according to Alan J. Bauman, M.D., a leading U.S. hair restoration physician. Women have a 35-percent chance of experiencing hair loss by age 50, but the condition can occur anytime after puberty.
According to Dr. Bauman of Bauman Medical Group in Boca Raton, Florida, a top U.S. expert on female hair loss who's treated hundreds of women over the last 10 years, the top seven health factors commonly associated with female hair loss are:
(1) MENOPAUSE - Hair thinning is a common complaint of women undergoing menopause. The condition coincides with a decrease in the production of estrogen and progesterone, the female sex hormones.
(2) POST-PREGNANCY - During pregnancy, a woman's hair grows faster and feels more luxurious thanks to increases in hormones which keep a higher than normal number follicles in a growth phase. However, after giving birth, the sudden drop in hormones often causes shedding and thinning as the ratio of growing/resting follicles returns to normal.
(3) CRASH DIETING - Unhealthy dieting and/or rapid weight loss may cause hair follicles to go into "shock," resulting in increased shedding and a loss of volume that may last for months - or, in some cases, indefinitely - even after a healthy diet is resumed.
(4) TRACTION ALOPECIA - Over time, certain hairstyles (e.g. tight braiding) and hair extensions can traumatize follicles and lead to permanent bald spots in the scalp, a condition known as "traction alopecia."
(5) TRICHOTILLOMANIA - Compulsive hair-pulling, or trichotillomania, can also lead to permanent bald spots in the scalp, eyebrows and eyelashes.
(6) PLASTIC SURGERY - Browlifts and facelifts can alter the appearance of the frontal hairline and may lead to both decreased hair density and scarring in those areas.
(7) STRESS - Severe emotional stress and trauma can also take a toll on the body, often leading to excessive shedding and thinning that can last for weeks.
The best way women can prevent tangled or matted hair is to change their natural hair care regimens even if they wear hairstyles that include added hair extensions.
We provide many solutions to tangled or hardheartedly matted hair and we have been very successful at it. However, we recommend that “as with almost any type of illness, hair loss and baldness can be prevented if resolved early enough." "The key is not to deny or blame yourself for the problem your hair is in, but solve it by saving your hair."
Tangled Hair Techs are the leading experts trained in the Technique of Take Down Removal System of de-tangling severely matted hair, dreadlocks, tangled hair clumps, and “Birds Nests” Syndrome. Their mission is to save hair and preserve your God given beauty.

Consumer Demand For Hair Extensions, Braids, Dreadlocks Increase Hair Loss In Women

Braids, Hair Extensions and Dreadlocks have become the latest trend in hair styling and growing in popularity. Improper removal of these hair styles have increased hair loss and hair thinning, according to Tangled Hair Techs of New York.

Although braids, hair extensions and dreadlocks seem to be the latest trend, they actually date back to 4th Century B.C. with the Egyptians, and have continued to grow strong ever since then.
The experts at Tangled Hair Techs believe these styles are more like a hidden conspiracy, which Beyonce and other celebrities have brought out into the open. Tangled Hair Techs are trained in the safest and easiest hair extension, braid, dreadlock removal system.
"As consumer demand for braids, dreadlocks and hair extensions has grown, clients have become less knowledgeable about the methods of proper removal processes," says Sheila Smith, Lead Educator. "Paris Hilton has her own hair extension line of products that don’t provide an effective Removal System for the hair.
"Some hair extension, braid or dreadlock methods can last in the hair for 4 months, and up to two years. Clients try to remove these hairstyles with homemade remedies, which cause serious damage, hair loss, and in some cases severely tangled or matted hair.

“When a women’s hair becomes seriously tangled or matted, they become so scared because they don’t want to cut their hair. Unfortunately they allow their hair to stay this way for weeks at a time-only for their hair to get worse. This will begin to affect the hair follicles-which can lead to Alopecia.” According to Tangled Hair Techs, Take Down Remover trained experts in the technique of removal, de-tangling and restoration.

“Women's hair loss is much more common than most people realize," According to Dr. Bauman of Bauman Medical Group in Boca Raton, Florida, a top U.S. expert on female hair loss who's treated hundreds of women over the last 10 years, a leading U.S. hair restoration physician. Women have a 35-percent chance of experiencing hair loss by age 50, but the condition can occur anytime after puberty.

The need for effective human hair extension, braid and dreadlock removal has grown enormously because nearly one out of every three women worldwide suffers from some sort of hair loss, as well as the emotional distress that it causes.
Tangled Hair Techs provide specialty extension removal services for:
(A) anyone who cannot grow their hair for any reason;
