In Bed for over a year……I can’t get a job because of my hair…..

Hi, I am lost and don't know what to do. It's a long story but I was in bed for over a year with severe depression and my hair is matted, tangled, knotted....I have tried everything.

I got through my depression, but my hair is bringing me back. It is so bad at this point that I cannot go outside without a hat. I am so embarrassed i sit in the house all day and i can't get a job because of my hair so my husband is paying for everything which makes me more depressed and we are struggling.

I have been literally trying to get the knots out of my hair for months. Water made it worse so now i am afraid to wash it. i ordered the takedown removed cream which helped, but not enough.

Please.....is their anything you can do to help me? I am already considering cancelling the beach trip with my whole family in March, when summer comes i won't be able to wear a hat everyday. My ten year reunion is this year.

Sometimes i come close to shaving it, or worse. i cry a lot i am so frustrated. Please help if you can. Advice or anything....

Is the Barber Shop My Only Answer……
I just removed a weave from my hair that I have enjoyed for five months,  There was a tremendous amount of new hair growth.  After removing the weave, there was some dryness and one patch of matted hair - about the size of a quarter.  I saturated my hair with a product called Cactus oil Serum for dry damaged hair and left it in overnight.  Thinking that it was ok, I jumped in the shower and proceeded to shampoo my hair - which wasn't a problem until I put conditioned on!  What a huge mistake that was!  I actually felt my hair tightening up and it became one HUGE MATTED MESS!  Is there any hope or is the barber shop my only answer!?

hi. i have mixed hair and got it bleached 2 christmases ago. this matted my hair and made tangles i never had to deal with before. since then i have just stuck to color but the tangles and some matting are still there. what products should i get, and will it work for me even though its been so long. my problem is due to color damage, not braids or extensions. please help... my hair is coming out like crazy.

Matted 6 Months old sew in weave… “I put Conditioner in my hair and that’s when it all happened!”

My hair is matted from a sew in I had for about 6months.. I washed my hair it was fine then I applied conditioner to my hair, thats when my hair got badly matted, knotted. Hot Water And Conditioner……

I had tangled hair and used hot water and conditioner to try and untangle my hair, which matted it into big clumps. The clumps are matted pretty tight and seems impossible to untangle. I really don\'t want to loose my hair, so I am looking for an tangled tech closest to where I live. I am from the Metro Detroit area.

Shampooed Immediately after Braids Removed……

 Hi i had braids in my hair and i just took it out . immediately washed it with shampoo and conditioner. It now very tangled to an extent that a comb can't pass through it. i afraid am going to loss my hair or cut it off. what can I do to save my hair.please help me.thx

I Went To A Salon……

Do you have any “Tangled Hair Techs” in the Indianapolis area?  Or anywhere in Indiana, for that matter—I am willing to travel if it means saving my hair (although I do have financial limitations to consider)!  I have tried detangling this mess myself, and when that didn’t work, I went to a salon.  Well, they couldn’t even undo what has essentially become one giant dreadlock.  I am scared and depressed and anxious and beginning to feel absolutely hopeless.  I don’t want to have to shave my head, but unless your team can help me, I’m afraid that is my only option.  Please help—I will beg and plead and do whatever it takes! 

I Used Regular Conditioner Mixed with Hand Lotion……

Hi, I am sure you have recieved similar desperate calls for help! I have some really BAD knots, no, BALL size tangled knots in my hair! I had a leg injury and was bedridden fot three months. I have almost waist lenght hair, I follow the Sufi Path and the hair are a part of my spiritual journey. Needless to say, I would feel " empty" without them. I could feel them knotting up under my hairband, I tie a ponytail but though I could be administered bed sponges, washing hair was not possible. I am better now and decided to take a proper bath and wash my hair. I googled and found I wud need to use a leqve in detangling conditioner. I tried in on but had absolutely no effect on the " balls" of hair. I tried without success and in desperation tried all the tricks I had read about, literally soaked them in oil, no luck,on top of the conditioner and oil,I used regular conditioner mixed with hand lotion. They seemed to bunch up more! And felt even tighter! Went looking for a hair salon for advise or selevtive trimming to salvage what we could, but its Sunday and the salons were closed. Last mistake I made was to use conditioner  by the handful and tried washing them hoping that they would have softened up and may untangle! I know its not advised to use water as they shrink. But I thought if I leave the conditioner in overnight they may get worse.
Is there any advise you can kindly give me in this regard? I have my hair since 1998, and have not even had them trimmed for the reasons I mentioned earlier! I am already in depression thinking what if I have to have them cut!

 Choking Incident, Heart Stopped & Stroke……

My sister-in-law suffered a choking incident a few years ago. Her heart stopped several times and she had a stroke during the incident. She's had a big tangle on the back of her head ever since, but none of us knew. We just thought she was wearing a bump-it or something. 

The emergency is that her father's funeral is on Thursday morning and she lives out of town. None of us can get away to go help her with this and she can't come early because her cat is disabled and she can't leave it alone that long. 

I realize this is a short time frame to work with, but can you help her? She lives in Kokomo, Indiana.

Washed My Hair Before Detangling……

I recently took out my sew-in extensions and mistakenly washed my hair before detangling.  Now my hair is a matted, tangled MESS. My natural hair is very curly so it's even more demanding.  I have a scholarship dinner to attend this weekend so I am DESPERATE. Two Tangerine Size Balls…….

Hello, I would love you to help me. My daughter (16) has an enormous knot of hair on the back of her head - two tangerine size balls either side of the back of her head and a lot of matting between them . Cancer Patient on Chemo……

I'm in Melbourne, Australia. I'm a cancer patient on Chemo and for Christmas my fiancé got me a sew in weave to cheer me up over my hair loss! 

I've had it in 2 weeks and have tried to maintain it but in the last 4 days I went from pretty long curls to hair that was half that length and badly matted! 
I have tried and tried spending hours a day with the help of a friend! 

Yes the girl who did my hair did a BAD job sewing it in... My hair underneath is unravelling, and now joining in this matted party!

5 year old daughter with Autism……

I really hope you can help me, I have a 5 year old daughter who has autism, from the moment her hair need brushing she hated it, screaming like I have never heard. We used to brush it and eventually calm her down but once she was diagnosed we realised there was more to it.

We carried on but then she refused to have a bath, it took 6 months to get her to get in the bath after that.

Needless to say her hair has suffered terribly, It has a slight curl to ends but is straight otherwise, it is now saturated to her head like a bird nest, you can feel the rim of it which covers most of her head. It is very long and I have tried Takedown remover cream but she doesn't have the patience to let me do it for long.

I've been looking for the services of a professional to help me detangle the huge Matt that has formed in my hair.

It first formed about a year ago and has slowly got worse, at one point it was covering my whole head. I have removed some of it but now has got to the point that I can't do anymore without help.

Hi my name is Ginger & I'm a 34 year old mother and wife. I have been living with a mental illness that keeps me so far down I go weeks without getting up out of bed. I mean before my hair was super thick and all I wanted was length. Now I have bald spots and matted hair to the scalp in the back. I have tried baby oil, olive oil, all the glue bonds that are supposed to take glue out and NOTHING is working. I live in Portland OR. Do you guys have anyone in Oregon or Washington? Thank you for your response.  I ordered a bottle of take down remover and will advise when it arrives. Unfortunately I did start cutting my hair, not much, I felt I couldn't do anything else. Its matted into a bun and I can't even get to the ends to comb through. I have been so depressed about my hair which reached my lower back close to all my life. Detangling Hair May Not Be Glamorous..Its Healing

I had a sewin for 6 months.  I removed my sewin.  Since it had been a long time since my hair had been thoroughly clean (without the sew in) I decided to wash my hair.  After shampooing and conditioning my hair my hair was badly matted.   I did not know what to do to fix this problem.  Not only had I ever experience this, I also never really known anyone else to experience this. 

 I knew that if I went to a beautician they would have quickly cut all my hair.  I went on the internet to different sites.  I discover that I was not the first to have gone through this experience.  The remedies I found included saturating my hair with water and conditioner and slowly untangle the hair.  The first day I saturated my hair with water and conditioner and I tried untangling it.  I did this for the next three days.  I was successful at untangling some of the hair but as the days went on I discovered large bundles of hair all tangled up in knotts.  4 days had gone by with me spending hours with my hair and I had made no progress with the tangled hair. 

 I know it is just hair but if I could do anything to keep it I felt that it did not hurt to give it a shot. My hair was not just matted. Again it was matted and I believe the more I saturated it with water and conditioner the worse it got.  It was literally knotted  (huge bunch of hair all tangled up in a large hard hump of hair) in different sections of my head.  I mean really knotted (like rat knotts) the knotts were so big that I thought it would be impossible to repair.  My sister was convinced that it would have to be all cut.  I did not give up.  Through my research I saw a clip on YouTube with some girls giving a seminar on how to take down dreadlock and other matted hair with the TakeDown product.  I still did not think this would work for me because again my hair was now in big hard knotts.  I was at a little more ease knowing that someone has gone through this dilemma before me.  I finally sent a message to TakeDown and ask if it was worth the effort to save my hair or realistically was my hair the worse case.   TakeDown representatives responded and highlighted do not cut your hair. 

 They gave me hope although I rarely believe anything from the internet but it did not hurt to try to save my hair.  It already takes a long time for my hair to grow back so I just did not want to give up.  A tangled hair tech told me to buy the TakeDown product and give her a call and she would walk me through the process.  I did not know how she could walk me through the process with these big huge knots I had in my hair.  I ask if she knew anyone that could physically untangle this matted hair from my head.  I met up with this young lady with very little hope.  I really thought that I was being had or being given false pretense.  With patience (approximately 4.5 hours) she untangled the matted and knotted hair.  I could not believe it, but with the TakeDown product detangler products and more importantly with her expertise she untangled my hair.

Hello. I was browsing the internet and came across Tangled Hair Techs and it's pretty much a last resort for me. I have tried to get help from a couple local salons and they won't help just suggest ideas or to shave my head. I was depressed for awhile and going through a lot and just constantly pulled my hair back and with the humidity and other stuff that's caused damage to my hair it's turned into a horrible mess. I've tried remedies people have offered and it's just made things worse. I have very long and thick hair and haven't been able to get a job or haircut due to the way my hair is currently. I usually will try to brush and comb it out but I get frustrated because it seems to make it worse so I end up pulling it back cause I don't know what else to do. I really want to save my hair and get it restored. I feel horrible about myself and appearance because of how my hair looks and would appreciate any help. It makes it worse when people judge you about something when they don't know why or how it happened and the few places I've turned to for help have judged. It's been way to long. My story is to long. Here's what Im facing; fusion keratin extensions 22-24 inches matted in some sort of bun on the top of my head. Is there an experienced  dreadlock remover in the seattle/tacoma area of Washington? I would be in tears if I had any left.

 I have had a problem with matted hair before. Last time I cut the matts out. My hair has since grown long again and now it's happened again since having my son 6 months ago, and suffering from depression and problems with my relationship with my fiance. I have matts all over my hair, and I cannot get them out myself. I've also had trichotillomania all my life, and I have bald patches on the crown of my head, and short regrowth as well. The problem is, we are supposed to be getting married this October (date set, invitations are out, and people have booked their flights to our Australian destination wedding). I don't know what to do with my hair for the wedding. I desperately need your help! I wore my hair up in a bun-ponytail for abt 2 weeks straight. I did not wash my hair. Just rinsed it with water in the shower every day and put it back up into a bun. Over 3/4 of my hair is now in a massive and extremely hard knot. I have tried with a whole bottle of conditioner and pick for hours at a time. I have tried olive oil, Swarzkoff hair oil for detangling. It is not getting any better. All I have been able to accomplish is to get some strands like half out and all snarly still. Half of the strand is still stuck somewhere within the knot. 

I have to start going to interviews, etc!!! I am scared! I have been to a salon here in Barcelona and they said it was impossible. They said it all needed to be cut! NOW that is what is impossible...like I said- that is all my hair!!!! 

My hair length is to my breast line. So it is kind of long. 

 I want to order your Take Down Remover. But I saw in one of the comments that you may be able to find a salon here in BCN where they specialize in this kind of catastrophe and use your products. PLEASE help me! I am feeling depressed and desperate!

Hi, I live in Colorado Springs and my hair has become matted in the back of my head.  I wear a head scarf most of the time to cover it up but I can't go around like this all the time.

I had it happen once before, and a salon was able to comb it out, but the whole time the woman was demeaning and nasty to me, kept demanding, "What did you do to make it like this?"  and treated me like I was scum.  Very judgmental. 

I was determined not to let it happen again but it did.  I think it's from keeping it in a ponytail, plus the dry air, sleeping on cotton pillowcases causing static, etc.  I haven't had this happen this bad until I moved out here from a more humid part of the country.

Anyway, it's matted again in the back and I can't get it out by myself, period.  I don't have any family or close friends here who can help me.  I got up the courage to go to another salon where there were a half dozen ladies sitting around with nothing to do in the afternoon, but when they saw me they said "Oh we won't do that, we'll just shave your head."  And then they laughed at me when I put my scarf back on and left.  

I wish these beauty schools would teach their students not to be such judgmental witches.

Do you know of anyone in the Colorado Springs area who can help me get this out?  I would like to try to find a different job, in an office (I work in a factory now) where I can't have hair like this.  I think I was a little depressed when I got the hair tangles and now it's worse, I feel like I'm in hiding.  When I got the hair untangled before, I felt so free. I want to feel like that again. 

I put an ad on Craigslist asking for help but no one has responded.  Could you help me?

I found myself in very difficult situation. My baby boy was born before Christmas, he has a several health problems and was diagnosed to have genetic condition. A two weeks ago, he undergo heart surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital. He spent a most of his life in the hospital. And I was by his side all the time. I suffered with stress and I stopped looking after myself as I haven't got time and thoughts for this.
I was so worried about my little one as he had heart failure and was rushed to the hospital.
I have long hair (nearly till waist), and now my hair are one big mess, one big tangle. I went to see hairdresser, but she said that it looks like they would have to cut my hair short. I was looking through internet, but youtube videos i saw, nobody had so horrible hair as i have now. Then I saw yours one and it was more like my hair.

I am just wondering if you have any detangling techs in or near Omaha, Ne? My daughter's hair has become one big dread lock. Help!!!!!

Long story short I had dreads on one side of my head that I did not maintain nor bothered to brush the hair around it for multiple reasons that have turned Into terrible matts and knotts that I'm at a lost of what to do with. I've read so much and heard of you guys. I live in Los Angeles do you work out here? It's beginning to make me feel depressed and hopeless and I really don't want to shave my head. Please help!!!!!

I have severely matted hair due to braid take out, and I was just wondering if you all could help me find an alternative to cutting my hair. This is really stressing me out and I know you all are busy but I'd really appreciate it if you could get back to me.

hey i haven't brushed my hair over a year i have curly nappy hair please help me. all of my hair is stuck together ive been wearing wigs because i cannot show my hair in so bad doesn't even look like my hair is long its disgusting please help
