The  back of my head has become matted due to putting in dreadlocks the wrong way (sectioning them horribly) It has been left uncombed for 3 months now and it is very curly. I live around Chicago and I wanted to know if you had any places around there. I have tried olive oil and lots of conditioner and none are good enough to get out the back of my head and when my mom took me to a salon all they told me was "put olive oil in or shave it off". Please respond - I really don't want to have to shave my head or chop a whole lot of it off.

after having a baby i didnt have time to take care of my butt length hair. i would just wash it and put it back up into a pony tail. in  june i noticed a matt in the back of my head near the base of my head. so since june ive been having several people work at it and it just seems to make the knots worse. i was wondering if there is anyone in pittsburgh pa that could help?!? i am prepared to shave my head it need be. i already bought myself a wig and everything i just came across your webiste today and figured id give this a try!

Matted hair after permanent colour in UK

Can you please help??? I am a salon manager in a training college and today  we had a client come in for a permanent root tint, she had a mixture of African Caribbean/ Asian hair, she had a baby 10 weeks ago and is breast feeding. She had a wella koleston permanent tint on her roots and it was shampooed with wella colour shampoo and conditioner.
When the student took her to the section it had matted into a huge box type birds nest clump!! We spent four hours using extra virgin olive oil trying to detangle it!! The client eventually became extremely head sore and wanted to go home we put it in a net and she is coming back on Monday to try again, she has long hair and the clump is in the middle she does not want it cut, can you please tell me what to do next? Very desperate for help ASAP

Hello. I was browsing the internet and came across Tangled Hair Techs and it's pretty much a last resort for me. I have tried to get help from a couple local salons and they won't help just suggest ideas or to shave my head. I was depressed for awhile and going through a lot and just constantly pulled my hair back and with the humidity and other stuff that's caused damage to my hair it's turned into a horrible mess. I've tried remedies people have offered and it's just made things worse. I have very long and thick hair and haven't been able to get a job or haircut due to the way my hair is currently. I usually will try to brush and comb it out but I get frustrated because it seems to make it worse so I end up pulling it back cause I don't know what else to do. I really want to save my hair and get it restored. I feel horrible about myself and appearance because of how my hair looks and would appreciate any help. It makes it worse when people judge you about something when they don't know why or how it happened and the few places I've turned to for help have judged. It's been way to long. My story is to long. Here's what Im facing; fusion keratin extensions 22-24 inches matted in some sort of bun on the top of my head. Is there an experienced  dreadlock remover in the seattle/tacoma area of Washington? I would be in tears if I had any left.

I have a small matted section in my hair. I was wearing my hair in it's natural state (kinky curly), I got sick and couldn't fix my hair for almost 2 weeks.  I have had a problem with matted hair before. Last time I cut the matts out. My hair has since grown long again and now it's happened again since having my son 6 months ago, and suffering from depression and problems with my relationship with my fiance. I have matts all over my hair, and I cannot get them out myself. I've also had trichotillomania all my life, and I have bald patches on the crown of my head, and short regrowth as well. The problem is, we are supposed to be getting married this October (date set, invitations are out, and people have booked their flights to our Australian destination wedding). I don't know what to do with my hair for the wedding. I am writing to ask if by any remote chance, there is anyone you know of Alberta, Canada, or anywhere in Western Canada for that matter, who could detangle my hair? I am used to dealing with bald patches, but these matts are too much!

I desperately need your help! I wore my hair up in a bun-ponytail for abt 2 weeks straight. I did not wash my hair. Just rinsed it with water in the shower every day and put it back up into a bun. Over 3/4 of my hair is now in a massive and extremely hard knot. I have tried with a whole bottle of conditioner and pick for hours at a time. I have tried olive oil, Swarzkoff hair oil for detangling. It is not getting any better. All I have been able to accomplish is to get some strands like half out and all snarly still. Half of the strand is still stuck somewhere within the knot. 

I have to start going to interviews, etc!!! I am scared! I have been to a salon here in Barcelona and they said it was impossible. They said it all needed to be cut! NOW that is what is impossible...like I said- that is all my hair!!!! 

My hair length is to my breast line. So it is kind of long. 

 I want to order your Take Down Remover. But I saw in one of the comments that you may be able to find a salon here in BCN where they specialize in this kind of catastrophe and use your products. PLEASE help me! I am feeling depressed and desperate!

Hi, I live in the Boston MA area, where are you located. My story is as follows, started three years ago with a really horrible hair cut, the stylist, said he had a special technique which bends and curls the hair, I have baby fine, super straight dark blone hair, was natural toehead til 30's.

He cut the hair dry with hairspray on it.............then I passed out drunk at a party and my hair was sheared like a ribbon which coils, they also put eyelash stimulator all over my scalp, then, three more bad cuts by other sytlists. then went to alleged superstylist to get a corrective cut, he gave me a justin bieber (sp) cut so the hair was cut to come forward from the back, then extensions with heat and glue which ripped out of my head without my pulling, big bald spots, hair seems to have regrown.

however all it does now after new stylist and 2 keratin express blow outs and cuts which suck the hair is just clumping and tangling and the eyelash hair is more coarse, so the real hair is just winding around it and it pulls and hurts so much, it is now thinning and you can see bald spots it wont go back or side ways and it is impossible to even part or get a line in the hair to blunt cut...........I have also had many surgeries and illnesses throughout the past 15 years, I saw my primary care md and he said he could not see any medical reason for this....I have a preexisting anxiety/panic disorder which I am medicated for, I almost lost my husband 10 months ago and the stress has taken its toll on my weight, hair and skin. I am using products the orabi and taking super food vitamins, my appetite and diet stinks. I am not a woman of financial means I am an artist, currently starving, litterally and figuratively! I am hoping there may be some compassionate person out there to help me.... I have not been able to work for the psst two years as I severely fractured my wrist which required four surgeries and two bone grafts, the last surgery on the wrist being in September 2011, my husband underwent a routine cardiac procedure resulting in a hole being lasered into his superior vena cava, he bled out, coded on the table had a stroke and required a 12 hour surgery to save his life, he was on life support for months and rehab for months, he is now doing so much better, I have a lot of medical knowlege and a biotechnology background so I was his primary care md at home, I was very brave and never flinched during this time, but now that things are better, I am a wreck and so ashamed of the way I look, I can't tell you. I am going to see a shrink now in addition to doing accupunture and polarity massage and mind and body wellness programs. I am really trying, I am 49 and in menopause as well and taking no hormones as I smoke. My medicine is ativan, baclofen I have cervical dystonia which causes severe neck spasms and pain, seeing a neurologist in Feb. and also taking 5 mg of vicodin a day for the pain still in my wrist. My mom was in a car accident and was unable to wash her hair for 10 weeks. We tried washing it yesterday and it was okay, but as soon as it dried it formed really big knots in 3 separate places and is very uncomfortable. Took her to couple of different salons and they all said it need to be cut, it is tangled in several places near the roots. Is there anything you can do to help? We live in Houston,TX.
